Congratulations, You’re Engaged — Now What?

Filed under: Uncategorized — styleguru @ 5:10 pm

It’s the holidays and that means many women and men are now engaged. With the euphoria and bliss of a newly announced engagement , comes the – “Now What?”. Well luckily, there are now iphone applications to help you out and they can start as low as 99 cents! One that I found that seems to answer a lot of questions and is user friendly is called My Wedding. First and foremost, it helps you get organized. This is key and it can be at your fingertips.

Connected weddings has come up with 166 “things to do.” If you’re 8 months away or only 1, you’ll be able to navigate easily through this application. Now there are a lot more wedding applications out there, but this seems to be the one with some of the highest ratings. Oh, and the best part is, it’s only $3.99.

Filed under: Uncategorized — styleguru @ 8:41 am

I was given a beautiful box of chocolates from a great friend. After I poked each one to see what the insides

were, I was inspired by the beauty of them. Then as I ate all of them in one sitting, I was inspired to blog

about their beautiful colors and thought what a great way to be inspired for a wedding! So feast your holiday

eyes on this yummy inspiration board!

Runway Feature: Ines DiSanto

Filed under: Uncategorized — styleguru @ 7:53 am

From time to time, we’ll be bringing you the freshest designs straight from the runway. This month we are

featuring Ines DiSanto. DiSanto is a renowned fashion designer and creator of classic, original Haute Couture

bridal and evening gowns. Why we love her “She’s a forward thinker, never afraid to take risks.” Plus, she

always puts family first — her daughter Veronica has been working by her mother’s side since she was 5.

Now Veronica owns her Bridal and Evening boutique in Toronto. We love the Fall line for 2010. The Trumpet

Dress is making a comeback — and notice each model is wearing a Headband. (see previous post) Enjoy.!

I can see your Halo.

It’s all the rage in Hollywood and now it’s spilling into the wedding industry. It’s the Headband and the looks

are as diverse as veils. Some brides are even opting to wear a veil during the ceremony and then changing it

out for a headband for a more casual, fun, flirty look for the reception. Here are just a few goodies we

found on Etsy.

Going Hollywood.

Filed under: Uncategorized — styleguru @ 9:45 pm

The new issue of Aislewalk Magazine is out it is inspired by the movies as you can tell from our editorial spreads. Apparently, we weren’t the only ones inspired by the silver screen. Wedding Dress Designer Ian Stuart has just unveiled his fall 2010 collection called Paramount. See if you recognize which flicks inspired these gowns.

Shoe Love.

Filed under: Uncategorized — styleguru @ 11:26 pm

A bride’s shoes are so important that they are being photographed and included in most albums. So every month we’re going to feature shoes for all seasons and all weddings. These will be some of my favorite posts. So here goes — let’s start with well… some of the best.
Louboutin! This shoe is known for it’s high heels, elegant lines and general sassy nature. Plus, let’s not forget the red soles.
If I were having a vintage wedding in the spring — these are the Louboutins I would choose- green suede.
Green Suede Ankle Strap
If I were having a sassy summer wedding I would choose these red strap satin shoes:

A fall wedding calls for something quite classic and different — how about these Decocolico Mary Jane Pumps.

And for winter — well it was a toss up between this little number

bouquet platform

and this one

Yes these are expensive, but I thought I would post these during the Holiday Season when wishes do come true. Christian Louboutin is carried at Holt Renfrew – enjoy. Next month– it’s Betsy Johnson.

Project Bridal Runway!

Filed under: Uncategorized — styleguru @ 9:07 pm

I love watching Project Runway Canada with Iman — who doesn’t? But from time to time I do watch Project Runway USA with Heidi. One of my favorite designers from last season was Carol Hannah. Now she has an online Store on Etsy — along with a wedding collection.  Her designs flow and look so comfortable. They are amazing so feast your eyes on her creations — oh and she has some bridesmaid dresses that put off-the-rack bridesmaid dresses to shame.
