Party Favors your Guests will Actually Love!

Filed under: Uncategorized — styleguru @ 10:04 am

We’ve all seen them, the candy-coated almonds, the little candles all of the wedding favors that we spend hours trying to figure out really don’t make much of an impression after the gala. However, a little thought and ingenuity and wah-la — you have Tea Towels. These are favors that don’t sit and collect dust – these are favors that you can actually use and put to work. We love this idea and think it’s pure genius. Enjoy. Their tagline sums it up perfectly: “Create an impression your guests can keep forever.”

Summertime!

Filed under: Uncategorized — styleguru @ 5:15 pm

It’s official – it’s summer. Which means, summer weddings are starting up and it’s important for wedding couple’s to take care of themselves and their guests during these hot days. You might consider : 1. Offering various drink stations throughout the celebration. 2. Consider paper fans or parasols for your guests. 3. Try going with a lighter menu — think seafood and pastas. 4. Finally, keep your cool and give plenty of shade from the sun so your guests can cool down. Keep them out of direct sunlight and you won’t have to worry about the heat exposure. 5. Lastly, enjoy– it’s summertime.

Wedding Registry goes Fiesta!

Filed under: Uncategorized — styleguru @ 6:15 am

I recently received a wedding invitation and noticed that the wedding registry was not at the usual spots. I was overjoyed to find that the couple actually put a note in to their friends and relatives to find FiestaWare. Fiestaware as made in the 1940’s and comes in every colorful shade you can imagine. I thought this was a brilliant idea and so unique. Oh in case you are wondering where to find it? Your best bet is flea markets and antique stores.

Inspiration from Stores!

Filed under: Uncategorized — styleguru @ 4:55 pm

Ok, I know we don’t have an Anthropolgie store in Vancouver — yet. From what I understand, we are to get one in the next year or so. Until then, I can dream can’t I? It’s one of my favorite stores for design ideas and I simply get inspired just being inside the store. So I was curious to see what would happen if you designed your wedding, from ideas from the store. Someone beat me to it, but I love it so I wanted to share her idea. Below is our weekly wedding inspiration board from — Anthropologie.

Wedding Pattern: Check!

Filed under: Uncategorized — styleguru @ 6:41 am

So we’ve known that the popular, wedding pattern damask is going out of style. So we were curious what the new pattern around the corner would be ? We were pleasantly surprised to find lots of references to gingham. Obviously, this isn’t a pattern for fall and winter weddings, but for the summer, we think it’s divine. We adore!
